This course will yield instruction on how to measure clients head, drafting a wig template, sealing wefts, weft placement, attaching wefts, wig comb placement ,attaching wig combs, wig fitting, wig installation

Students must provide: ( the following item list is not included in the course kit)

  • a working knowledge of hair styling and weaving and basic use of salon utensils that include but are not limited to scissors, needle, thread, combs, brush and hair blow dryer.

Course Description

Learn the technique to create U-Part wigs and Ventilating/knotting lace closures. 32 Hours

U-Part Wigs

Learn to create U-Part Wigs to be worn with or without a lace closure. During this course you will learn how to take client head measurements for customized wig construction. You will learn how to attach hair wefts to 2 types of wig caps, wig installation with and without a lace closure, in front and behind hairline (to provide clients with versatility options).


Lace Closure Ventilation Course Description

You will learn the level 1 technique of ventilating/knotting which is the first step to making lace wigs, lace closures, silk base closures and lace frontals.  The purpose of this course is to lay a strong foundation, and give the fundamentals of ventilation to enable each student to begin immediately offering clients the new style technique. This course will also be a platform continue to move on to advanced aspects of wig making.  You will be able to identify different types of ventilating needles and holders, and how to assemble each.  You will be able to differentiate between hair types, textures, and the direction of hair cuticles. You will be able to professionally prepare a wig base for lace ventilation.  The level 1 technique is learning to ventilate single knots. The course will also include learning how to create “baby hairs”, ventilation density and direction. You will learn how to bleach and seal knots,and also lace adhesives and removal solvents and techniques. You will learn to attach lace to U-Part wigs and 5 techniques to applying U-Part wigs with lace closure.
